About the Role:
Nelson Permanent Placements are currently recruiting for a Resistance Welder to work with our client who are a Manufacturing organisation based in the Sandwell area.
We are looking for skilled Resistance Welding Technicians to join the team at a global manufacturing leader. In this role, you’ll set up, operate, and maintain resistance welding machinery to produce high-quality welds across a range of materials. A strong technical skillset and attention to detail are essential, along with a dedication to safety and quality.
Shift Pattern: 2-week rotating shift pattern
Shift 1: Monday - Thursday 6am - 2pm; Friday 6am - 1pm
Shift 2: Monday - Thursday 2pm - 10pm; Friday 1pm - 8pm
Pay Rate: £11.44 - £12.50 per hour, depending on experience, plus a 22% shift allowance for night shifts
Weekly Hours: 39 hours
Responsibilities:
* Prepare, adjust, and operate resistance welding equipment according to specifications.
* Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting to maintain equipment at peak performance.
* Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders to determine welding requirements.
* Inspect welded joints using visual and mechanical methods to ensure adherence to quality standards.
* Monitor and make adjustments to the welding process as needed to maintain consistent quality.
* Work closely with engineers and production staff to improve welding efficiency and quality.
* Maintain records of machine settings, maintenance, and production outputs.
* Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to uphold a safe work environment.
What We’re Looking For:
* Hands-on experience in resistance welding within a manufacturing setting.
* Strong mechanical skills and proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing welding equipment.
* Familiarity with welding standards and inspection techniques.
* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and welding symbols.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
* Capable of working independently and within a team.
