The Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Assurance (HSEQA) team provides support to the John Innes Centre, Earlham Institute, The Sainsbury Laboratory and the Quadram Institute. The role: The Norwich Bioscience Institutes Partnership (NBIP) has an exciting opportunity for a HSEQ Business systems coordinator to join their busy team. HSEQ team supports the John Innes Centre, Earlham Institute, Quadram Institute, The Sainsbury Laboratory and the Partnership teams.We are looking for a highly motivated person to co-ordinate the various aspects of the Institutes and Partnership H&S management systems including overseeing accident, incident and near miss documentation; conduct when required, minor accident, incident and near miss investigations; support the head of HSEQ and the rest of the HSEQ team in delivering an outstanding service. This post holder will also be expected to support the upkeep of the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management and Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) platform systems, planning of audits and inspection as well as providing general H&S training to staff.The post holder will be supporting the development, the implementation and management of HSEQ programs and policies for the Institutes and Partnership teams. The post holder will also help coordinating a joined-up approach between Next Generation Infrastructure project and HSEQ teams.The successful candidate must be self-motivated, enjoy working in a team and be a role model. They will promote and encourage a healthy and safe working environment, in line with legislation and best practice. This role requires both formal and informal leadership and influencing skills. The ideal candidate: The ideal candidate must have 3 A levels grades A-C or equivalent, 5 GCSEs including English and Maths at grades A-C/ 5-9 or above or equivalent. An HND business studies or equivalent would be an advantage. The ideal candidate must have provided similar support for a business, research institute or university.They must have experience in managing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management and Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) platform systems or reporting tools and knowledge/use of root cause analysis tools, RCA, MSA and lean techniques would be an advantage.They must be enthusiastic, able to multitask and to problem solve efficiently and effectively. They will be organised and have a very good attention to detail, as well as strong communication skills.The successful candidate must be self-motivated with the ability to work well on their own or in a team by promoting and encouraging a healthy and safe working environment in line with legislation and best practice. Additional information: Salary on appointment will be within the range £36,000 to £44,500 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.
