Specialist Podiatrist - Musculoskeletal Podiatry
Swansea Bay University Health Board have an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced Podiatrist to join our innovative and friendly team of Podiatrists and Orthotists. The role will enable you to use and develop your existing podiatric diagnostic and management skills in the provision of excellent patient care.
The role has a clear focus on musculoskeletal podiatry and will provide an excellent opportunity to use and develop musculoskeletal podiatry skills.
Podiatric services are delivered across the whole of the Swansea Bay Health Board, however the role will largely be based in Swansea at Central Clinic and Singleton Hospital.
Main duties of the job
1. The autonomous assessment, development of treatment plans and signposting as appropriate of a wide range of Podiatry patients with both routine and complex health problems.
2. Effectively managing a Podiatry clinical caseload of clients with complex needs using evidence based client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate podiatric interventions in community settings and other settings as required.
3. Support positive behavioural changes through activation to empower self-management.
4. Use of evidence based, client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate podiatric interventions in the hospital and community setting.
5. Single handed, autonomous assessment, diagnosis and development of care and treatment plans for low and high risk of crisis patients in primary and community care settings.
6. Involvement in research and local clinical audit to measure and monitor in relation to intervention evaluation.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

* BSc (Hons) Podiatry or equivalent
* HCPC registered
* LA Certificate
* Evidence of current relevant CPD
* Supplementary or Independent Prescriber
* Post Graduate Qualifications
* Registered on MSc programme
Experience
* Post Graduate employment as B5 or B6 Podiatrist
* Supervision of junior staff
