Job summary
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our team at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The Senior Pharmacist - Neurosciences post will encompass providing leadership and pharmacy services to the neuroscience areas within the Trust, including: neurosurgical ward, acute stroke unit and neurology ward.
The role will involve input into all of these areas including leadership to a range of clinical pharmacy teams, delivery of effective clinical and operational pharmacy services, implementation of service improvements and ensuring patient safety within the designated divisions.
Applying candidates should be strong leaders with a passion for clinical pharmacy services, and have experience working within neuroscience areas.
They will also be expected to develop strong professional relationships with a wide variety of colleagues and stakeholders. We are searching for an enthusiastic pharmacist who is forward thinking and keen to take on new challenges.
You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team with both nursing and medical staff to ensure the highest standard of care to patients within South Tees. You will lead the pharmacy team currently comprising of foundation level clinical pharmacists, specialist clinical pharmacists, medicines management technicians and pharmacy support workers and manage the day to day running of the service.
Main duties of the job
Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Leading and delivering of clinical services including clinical medication reviews and discharge facilitation
2. Promote the ongoing development of innovate clinical pharmacy practice within the organisation and to external stakeholders
3. Service improvement initiatives
4. Contribute to Pharmacy education and training
5. Contribute to clinical governance, audit and research to include independently leading on your own research projects and publishing.
You will need to have excellent communication within the team and be able to work autonomously to meet specific deadlines. Excellent team-working skills are a priority and will contribute to the process of service development and innovation within the team driven by your own initiative and enthusiasm.

6. Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
7. Master's Degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent)
8. Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent relevant postgraduate clinical qualification
9. Pharmacist independent prescribing accreditation or actively working towards qualification

10. Wealth of experience in clinical pharmacy within a hospital setting
