The Opportunity
Exciting opportunity for a Control and Instrumentation Commissioning Engineer to join a leading nuclear engineering contractor at the forefront of nuclear technologies.
Your Duties and Responsibilities
1. Responsible for system design and system integration into overall design.
2. Produce, review, and update system documentation for operator instructions, human machine interface, safety and environmental, control logic design, as well as periodic testing in compliance with the engineering rules, methodologies, quality processes, and tools.
3. Perform analysis for defining the C&I Functional Requirements of the system and production of the C&I logic.
4. Write Instrumentation and Control Functional Requirements.
5. Specify Detailed Functional Diagram (DFD; C&I logic diagram).
6. Write Functional Test Procedures and run respective tests, and write system design manual part 5 (C&I logic description).
7. Specify human machine interface (alarm sheets, operating images, operating modes).
8. Analyze and verify input data, requirements, and lessons learned from other stations.
9. Engage proactively with all stakeholders around the system to ensure the delivery of a product meeting the requirements set by all disciplines (layout, civil, hazard, nuclear safety, environment, configuration management, procurement, etc.).
10. Contribute to topics around good practices, innovation, improvement of processes, and quality.
Qualifications & Experience
C&I, Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 2-3 years' experience in Instrumentation and Control design.
Experience of producing design documentation and Test Specifications.
Ability to effectively manage own workload in order to produce high-quality documents and respect deadlines, and to communicate clearly and accurately, both written and orally, in English.
Continuously looking for opportunities to improve the quality of engineering studies and the subsequent documentation produced.
The Setting for the Role
Risks and hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licensed site. These can include nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gases, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high-pressure circuits, steam, and high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided, and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
