Join our small, specialist Children's Service on a designated management pathway to become our new Deputy Manager. You will begin your journey with us as a Senior Support Worker and we will work with you to support your development to gain the skills and experience necessary to take on a Deputy Manager role.
This bespoke service supports three children/young people with learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, and related supported needs.
You will have access to formal learning including recognised qualifications and supportive on-the-job mentorship that is required to gain the skills and experience to become our next Deputy Manager and advance your career within the Children’s Social Care sector.

* Salary starting at £27,560 per year (Senior Support Worker) increasing up to £29,700 per year (Deputy Manager) – dependent on experience, once learning pathway is completed.

What you’ll be doing:
* Working with the Registered Manager to support the 24-hour management of the home, ensuring that all aspects of service delivery are focused on meeting the needs of the young people we support.
* Supporting a team of staff members, ensuring their induction, training, and development through mentoring and on-the-job supervisions.
* Contributing to the young person’s care plans, risk assessments, their review, and implementation to provide effective strategies to assist the young people we support to achieve their identified outcomes.
* Leading on meetings and forming robust relationships with social workers and other key stakeholders, including families and health providers.
* Being part of an on-call system for the home, with the support of senior managers from the organisation.
* Deputising for the Manager in their absence to lead the service.
* Managing incidents and safeguarding considerations of the home.
* Developing your leadership and management skills in a supportive environment through on-the-job and formal learning.
Who you are:
* A minimum of two years of experience as a Support Worker or an existing Senior Support Worker working in the social care sector, preferably with children or adults with learning disabilities, autism, or similar needs.
* Able to work independently, multitask, organise, and prioritise work to suit the people we support.
* Exhibiting a ‘can do’ attitude and a mature and professional approach.
* A positive role model to the children we support and to your colleagues.
* Possessing good communication skills.
* Able to execute and deliver the requirements of your role while keeping a positive attitude under pressure.
* A quick learner with the aptitude to successfully undertake formal leadership and management learnings.
* Practical and hands-on, willing to be flexible in tasks and activities.
* Able to work flexibly as needed to meet the needs of this service, including some weekend working.
* Exceptional at building relationships and influencing at all levels, internal and external.
