Field Service Engineer Hampshire
Are you an experienced Engineer who has worked on Heavy Vehicle maintenance either in the Army, Construction, Plant Maintenance, or similar? We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer who will be covering sites within the Hampshire area at client locations.
You will proactively maintain a fleet of MOTS and COTS products, both company and customer owned within their engineering capabilities. You’ll maximise the operational availability for the customer by investigating, understanding and eliminating failed/fault operation of those products such that the fix is as rapid and cost-effective as possible while ensuring continued safe and effective operation for the foreseeable future.
Responsibilities:
1. Identify the root cause of a breakdown in a timely manner and ensure the correct parts are obtained using the nominated supply chain, including when required.
2. Identify any further work required on a machine and ensure the customer is made aware.
3. Complete all related job and service documentation with accurate data and all necessary signatures/documents obtained from the customer.
4. Repair, maintain, inspect and service plant equipment such as Fork Trucks and associated ancillaries to current company standards and LOLER and PUWER legislation, both at regional pool location and on site as directed, using effective time management systems.
5. Maintain local stocks of spares, CES, ancillaries, attachments and local technical documentation, as appropriate.
6. Ensure that safe systems of work are adopted and company Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality policies are read, understood and adhered to at all times.
7. Authorised to mentor MoD maintainers and users, within limits of own qualification, ability and knowledge.
What they are looking for:
1. Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Experience in vehicle diagnosis techniques.
3. Experience in construction related plant/MHE/HGV maintenance, Fork Truck would be highly desirable.
4. Full Driving Licence is essential.
5. Candidates will need to be eligible to gain full Security clearance for the role.
They offer a salary circa £34,500 plus annual bonus (which is split quarterly and equates to £2,400 per year) as well as opportunity for overtime. Working hours are Monday to Friday (40 hours). A contributory Pension Scheme, 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) and other great benefits are offered along with a company Van.
