AV.com is a leading online retailer of home audio, cinema and hi-fi equipment, and wants to become the online destination for home entertainment products. Launched in January 2022 by Gear4music Limited, we are at an exciting stage of development and expansion. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented Managing Director to join our team at our York head office and play a crucial role in enhancing our online presence and driving sales.
Summary
Reporting into the CEO, this is a new role to manage a significant area of the Gear4music portfolio. You will have the opportunity to own business strategy and drive growth in our UK and EU markets.
You will be the first port of call for AV.com within the business. You will need to maintain effective and productive relationships with many stakeholders, across marketing, purchasing and operations. There may be some travel involved, as our AV.com distribution centre is based in Bacup.
What You Will Do At AV.com
* Develop commercial strategy for the business, enveloping product ranges, proposition and user experience. Align strategy with wider Gear4music plans and then enact those plans within the team.
* Proactively effect change, including introducing new processes and embracing new technologies, such as AI, without compromising operational rigour.
* Identify potential risks and opportunities, providing plans to ensure efficient success of the business.
* Lead the team; Manage, develop and support the AV.com team, encouraging them to thrive and deliver meaningful results.
* Leadership and oversight of each department including purchasing, marketing and logistics to ensure AV has a consistently strong proposition.
* Financial Management, including budgeting, forecasting and reporting on KPIs to the board. Ensuring AV.com maintains a healthy financial position across all EU markets.

* An ecommerce or retail background with a clear understanding of challenges facing retail businesses and knowledge of industry best practices.
* Leadership experience including strategic planning, managing a team and driving sales and revenue growth.
* Be able to demonstrate that you have led complex business operations successfully.
* Have vision and be open to innovation to fuel growth with data driven decision making.
* Solutions orientated with the ability to tackle challenges creatively.
* Adaptable and comfortable with potential changes in direction.
