Under the direction of the direction of the Day Nursery Management team the post holder will assist in the implementation of the organisation and delivery of all childcare for the Day Nursery. Leading and motivating the team and undertaking the delegated authority as required. Further ensuring that minimum ratios are always maintained throughout the Nursery. To effective take responsibilities for the effect running of the post holders delegated room and staff within. The post holder will be a creative and reflective leaders, able to implement new ideas and use a range of strategies to continually improve practise and support the Day Nursery Management team.
The post holder will have the responsibility for the day to day running of their designated room. They will perform an important role caring for children, maintaining a high quality, stimulating learning environment, supervising staff and imparting their knowledge and skills onto others too. The post holder will be a positive and proactive member of the management team in leading their designated room within agreed policies and procedures.
Acting as Officer in charge in the absence of the Deputy Head of Early Years Services and Day Nursery Operation and Project Manager; in leading day to day operations and organisations of the nursery within agreed policies and procedures ensuring that all policies and procedures set out by the Nursery Adhered to at all times.

About you
1. Full and relevant childcare qualification NNEB, BTEC a minimum Level 3
Extensive years post qualifying experience
To have a sound knowledge of the Children’s Act, Every Child Matters document, the Early Years Foundation Stage, and latest legislation
To have a sound knowledge of child development 0-7 years
Understanding of Safeguarding children and own responsibilities to protect children
To have an excellent understanding of health and safety issues
Experience of leading a “Good” or “Outstanding” outcome to Ofsted inspection.
