Job Title: Engagement Officer

Salary Range: £25,000 FTE (£15,000 actual). 22.5 hours per week. Hours and day
Location: Based mainly at the Linc Office at Cheltenham General Hospital but the role will require you to workat our Gloucester office based in Gloucester Royal Hospital as well.
At Linc Charity our mission is to support local blood cancer patients and their families across Gloucestershire. We provide emotional support and financial assistance when it’s needed the most.
Linc help to navigate the impact of cancer upon patients and their loved ones by funding Clinical Psychologists that work within the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We also fund a clinical trial team member who work with blood cancer patients and offering them access to innovative trials that could benefit them, and others, in the future. These trials are so important as they have the potential to change patient outcomes both nationally and internationally. For a small charity, Linc makes a huge impact!
Linc has offices at both Cheltenham General and Gloucester Royal Hospital and so we are in the centre of where patients receive their care and so as a result, we are on hand to understand and listen to what patients and clinicians need to make the biggest impact.

As Engagement Officer you’ll provide essential administrative support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the charity’s activities. You will be involved with working with our volunteers, supporters and patients as well as attending our events. You’ll play a vital role in every aspect of the charity!
What you will be doing:
* Manging vital communication with our donors via email, letters or phone calls, including thanking and acknowledging donations and support.
* Ensuring that our supporters and volunteers have everything they need with their fundraising efforts or for their volunteer duties.
* Maintaining accurate records and databases, including donor information and contact preferences.
* Working on platforms such as Just Giving, Give Wheel and others to ensure we are offering guidance for our supporters.
* Leading on our mailings and newsletters to ensure engagement across our supporter base.
* Supporting the wider with the planning and execution of fundraising events and other charity activities.
* Acting as the first point of contact for supporters and patients and responding to inquiries and providing information about the charity.
* Providing administration support for new fundraising opportunities and community grants.
* Supporting with the charity’s social media platforms and website, to ensure we are inspiring people to get involved with our work.

* You have excellent organisation skills and strong attention to detail
* You are able to communicate effectively both verbally and through writing
* You show proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* You can work independently but thrive in a team environment
* You can prioritise competing work deadlines and manage your time well
* You have worked in an office-based environment previously, ideally for a charity or non – profit organisation
* You have an interest in fundraising, events and volunteering
* You have experience or an interest in social media and creating content to inspire audiences
* You have empathy and feel comfortable working in a hospital environment
