This role also allows you the opportunity to work with colleagues from all levels of the organisation up to and including the Executive Directors. The Operations Support Manager will oversees the day-to-day operations of the organization’s manufacturing facilities, planning, coordinating, and directing the activities (processes) that result in products (goods). Role Responsibilities: Participation & lead in all daily review meetings to prioritise action plans, sense check problem definitions and establish which corrective actions are most important in the short term Report site performance, including corrective actions and outstanding issues covering the following areas, safety and environment, chemicals, energy and raw material usages, output rates against standard, lost time, off plan running and out of specification or lost production. Ensure support is provided to the production team, site wide, to deliver environment standards to the stringent requirements of the mill including monitoring levels of effluent discharge and freshwater consumption, taking action and communicating with the effluent treatment plant and investigating to establish root cause of any incident. Analyse manufacturing data and identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement; identify and utilize methods of making manufacturing process more efficient and effective (reducing waste, using lean). Lead, develop and motivate all team members through regular communications, written and verbal and ensure that every member of the shift has performance appraisal twice per year Ensure that all engineering activities are conducted in accordance with statutory and legal requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act and that the management of the Health and Safety at Work Regulations are being enforced. What we’re looking for: Supervisory / Management experience gained in a similar or related manufacturing environment Sound knowledge of lean and problem solving tools, operating procedures, quality methodologies & techniques with sound knowledge of lean and problem solving tools A strong understanding of the importance of collaboration and partnership working to align services with the customer journey. The ability to switch between big-picture strategy and operational detail.
