We are seeking a passionate and experienced SENCO to join a dedicated team and lead the provision for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities across the school. Beginning ASAP.
Duties as a SENCO:
* Lead, manage and coordinate SEND provision across the school
* Work with teachers to ensure high-quality inclusive teaching and targeted support
* Identify pupils’ needs and ensure appropriate interventions and support plans are in place
* Coordinate the work of support staff and external specialists (e.g. EPs, SALTs, etc.)
* Monitor the progress and attainment of pupils with SEND and report to SLT and governors
* Support EHCP applications and ensure compliance with SEND legislation and the SEND Code of Practice
* Provide training and guidance to staff on inclusive practice and SEND strategies
* Foster positive relationships with parents and carers, ensuring regular communication and partnership working
* Maintain up-to-date records, provision maps, and the SEND register
Ideal SENCO:
* Has Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Holds (or is working towards) the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO)
* Has a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation
* Demonstrates a deep commitment to inclusive education and improving outcomes for all learners
* Has excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills as a SENCO.
* Can lead by example and work collaboratively as part of the senior leadership team
* Is compassionate, solution-focused, and driven to make a difference
