About the Role As a Database Administrator, you will play a critical role in managing Oracle EBS R12.2 and Oracle databases, all on the Linux platform. Your work will involve close collaboration with team members and other departments within the University. You will be instrumental in maintaining a high level of service and continuously seeking opportunities to enhance our services and processes. Your responsibilities will include: Database Management : Keeping our systems up to date and secure. Service Troubleshooting : Solving complex database issues in a Unix environment. Design and Development : Contributing to the creation of new and improved services. Effective Communication : Engaging with different teams to ensure successful solutions. Mentoring : Sharing your knowledge with less experienced team members. About You To thrive in this varied and engaging role, we are looking for someone with: Experience with Oracle EBS R12.2 and modern Oracle databases (19c). Proficiency in Linux, understanding how to configure, maintain, monitor, and optimize Oracle EBS R12.2. The ability to configure, optimize, and monitor Oracle 19c databases, with a focus on resilience and disaster recovery. A strong sense of responsibility, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to see tasks through to resolution. The capacity to consider problems in context and provide effective solutions. Excellent time management and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. About the Team The Unix Platform Services Team is a collaborative and diverse group responsible for managing services on Unix infrastructure. This includes Oracle databases, applications, and various components that ensure secure access to our systems. The team is dedicated to delivering high-quality services, offering mutual support, and fostering technical excellence. We actively promote internal support and cross-team collaboration. Our team values flexibility, with many team members working in a hybrid format. Additionally, 25% of the team enjoys non-standard working hours, such as compressed or part-time schedules.
