Arch Recruitment Solutions are currently recruiting for an NDT Technician Level 2 for an Aerospace testing laboratory based in Warwickshire.
This is a position suited to candidates with experience testing aircraft components using fluorescent MPI and Penetrant methods.
Role responsibilities –
* For the role of NDT Technician, you will apply testing techniques within the limitation of procedures prescribed by approved codes, standards, and specification.
* You will derive and document procedures or inspection techniques for NDT Inspection where required to meet specific customer requirements for the role of NDT Technician.
* Perform internal calibrations and process control checks of equipment
* Carry out pre and post inspections to ensure components are free from damage and FOD.
* Conduct thorough pre and post cleaning using Vapour degreasing and/or solvent cleaning.
* Maintain log sheets of incoming and outgoing work requests.
* Ensure the work area is safe for carrying out NDT activities. Ensure testing is carried out within the parameters of the applicable procedure and specification.
* You will evaluate and interpret results of the test in accordance with the applicable specification for the role of NDT Technician.
* Produce a clear and concise report detailing the methods used and results of the test.
* Carry out work in a timely and efficient manner in order to meet deadlines and changing priorities when the situation requires.
* Direct the work of trainees and assistants.
* Monitor the serviceability and calibration status of equipment. Report any defects or malfunctions to the Technical Director.
* For the role of NDT Technician, you will liaise with onsite customer regarding priority work scopes and timing of work.
* Carry out all work/tasks in accordance with Company and Regulatory requirements (HSE) to prevent unsafe working practices and to ensure their own and other people’s safety, as far as reasonably practical.
* Seek assistance and advice from Manager/HSE/Level III where the requirements of the procedure cannot be met.
* Undertake any other duties of reasonable nature as required by Management.
Role requirements –
* You will be qualified in the relevant methods PCN / ASNT / EN4179 for the role if NDT Technician.
* Acquired Aerospace industrial experience in the method
* Relevant eye test allowing for quality inspections
* Relevant NDT level 2 certification from an accredited institute
* Basic Microsoft and IT skills are required for the NDT Technician role.
* Previous work experience within a manufacturing facility and/or inspection process line.
* For the role of NDT Technician, you will have experience testing aircraft components using fluorescent MPI and Penetrant methods.
