Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join the Medicine and Acute Division's Governance Team at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The Division is looking to recruit an experienced, motivated and independently minded Business Partner - Quality Governance to support the Divisional Quality and Safety Lead in the delivery of governance across all aspects of patient safety, risk management, audit and effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work closely with the Divisional Quality and Safety Lead, promoting and facilitating quality governance within the Division. Applicants should have a good understanding and knowledge of the Governance agenda across the NHS.
Reporting to the Divisional Quality and Safety Lead, the post holder will have responsibility for supporting all aspects of governance across the Division, including incident and complaint management, risk, and clinical audit and effectiveness processes.
The post holder will have good analytical skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Candidates should have skills and experience of key governance and assurance principles. This role also requires individuals with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage their own workload without supervision within a busy environment.

Patient Safety
Lead the effective implementation of the Trust's incident management and patient safety incident policies across the division of responsibility. Responsibility to escalate aspects of noncompliance with policy to divisional leadership.
Support staff in aligned services to report all new incidents and assign an investigator in a timely manner. Support accurate scoring of risks and incidents and planning suitable actions to address recurring issues.
Provide expert advice and challenge to ensure that incidents are appropriately investigated and that areas for improvement are identified; with robust action plans in place to reduce the likelihood of recurrence.
Risk
To ensure high quality risk management is embedded, enhanced and maintained and promote learning and development of all staff in risk processes and Trust risk policies - ensuring that a positive, open and supportive risk management culture is adopted and embedded throughout the Division.
Complaints
Support oversight of the Divisional management of complaints, escalating to Senior Business Partner where complaint management is outside of performance or quality expectations.
Qualifications
Essential
* Degree level qualification, or equivalent experience
* Experience of the Ulysses System or equivalent risk management system
* Clinical/Quality Governance experience within a complex environment

* Clinical qualification

Knowledge and Skills
Essential
* Highly developed oral, written, presentation and leadership skills
* Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
* Understanding of CQC and quality standards

* Evidence of the ability to advise and influence senior managers and clinicians in relation to risk management, patient safety and quality improvement
* Able to analyse and make judgements to resolve problems
* Excellent project management skills
