Role Summary
We are currently recruiting for an organised and efficient Marketing Assistant to join our busy marketing team on a permanent basis.
The Marketing Assistant (MA) is responsible for providing marketing and administrative support within the Content and Engagement Marketing (CEM) team. The role-holder uses multi-channel marketing tactics, including email marketing, social media, advertising, and conferences (in-person and virtual), to support the business goals of our journals, books and conference series programmes.
Role Overview
The MA assists and supports the CEM team, reporting to the Marketing Manager, and will also work with colleagues in the global marketing teams as well as a variety of internal and external stakeholders. The role helps to implement campaigns that will effectively maximize our return on investment on marketing activities, as well as meet product, business area and company strategic objectives. The MA upholds best practice in all marketing activity and is part of a high-performing team with a passion for modern marketing techniques.
What will you be doing?
Key job accountabilities include:
1. Responsible for supporting the delivery of marketing activities across all key channels as allocated to them;
2. Contribute to and represent marketing on project-based work that will further the overall organisational objectives as directed by the Head of CEM, Marketing Manager or other members of the CEM team;
3. Responsible for the completion of tasks briefed to them by team members to support specific campaign and project goals;
4. Produce routine reports and undertake routine analysis of campaign performance;
5. Responsible for carrying out all administrative support, including processing invoices, to facilitate the smooth running of the team.
About you:
Successful applicants should demonstrate the following:
1. An understanding of and interest in marketing concepts, and the ability to learn how to use marketing tools quickly;
2. Good understanding of all social media platforms;
3. Previous office administration experience is preferred but not essential;
4. Ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles;
5. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, confidence in communication with stakeholders to liaise with internal and external customers at many different levels;
6. Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills, managing multiple briefs at any one time;
7. Excellent problem solving skills – identify opportunities and overcome challenges.

We are looking for someone to attend the Bristol office on a weekly basis (2-3 times per week). All travel to the Bristol office will be at the employee's own expense.
