Night Transport Clerk SHIFT: 9pm - 5am (Sunday - Thursday) SALARY: £27,500 per annum Role, Purpose and Summary Objectives: To contribute to the smooth and efficient operational activities within the Traffic Office in order to meet and exceed customer expectations. To ensure that all Transport Administration is accurate, up to date, as legally required by the Department of Transport. Key Accountabilities: These responsibilities are not an exhaustive list and may be changed in line with operational requirements from time to time Carry out all traffic office functions in line with company policies and procedures Deal with incoming/outgoing telephone calls politely and confidently To provide and maintain efficient and effective clerical support for the traffic office / traffic team as required Facilitate effective communication between yourself, your peers and the Management Team Responsible for monitoring, maintaining and complying with Health, Safety and Environmental standards thereby minimising the risk to themselves and others Ensure compliance to Warehouse and Transport Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and safe systems of work Ensure full compliance with all Company and statutory regulation regarding the operators licence, tachograph analysis and drivers hours To ensure that all activities are undertaken in accordance with current legislation, Company policies and procedures and best practice Develop own knowledge and skills and contribute to the development of others Support people’s equality, diversity and rights Ensure all information contained on the system is accurate at all times Complete driver Pre- Briefs and De-Briefs. Complete all daily reports by the end of each shift. Competencies, skills & experience: Ability to communicate effectively through a variety of mediums (written, verbal, interpersonal, telephone) with a range of people on a range of matters Contribute to the monitoring and maintenance of systems, vehicles and equipment Methodical with an attention to detail and an ability to prioritise workload Ability to work on own initiative within broad parameters Proactive with an ability to work under pressure and to react and respond to change Flexible in your approach Resilient and able to thrive in a demanding and fast changing environment Proven track record of working within a transport operation, including a good geographical knowledge of the United Kingdom – desirable Customer orientated with supply chain experience an advantage Good standard of education Good Knowledge of Transport Legal responsibilities PC literate
