VACANCY:
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER
We have a great opportunity for an Environmental Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate, reporting to our Sustainability Manager, will join our team at our Middleton site where we produce classic British Brands alongside authentic Japanese sushi seasonings and vinegar. With a passion for continuous improvement and improving cross-department ways of working, the Environmental Manager will have a strong focus on aligning approach and processes with Mizkan’s Bury St Edmunds site as well as ensuring compliance with legislation, reporting and adopted standards.
As a key member of our team, you will:
1. Maintain & update the ISO14001:2015 Environment Management System (EMS) & site Environmental Permit in line with business, legislative and customer needs. This includes organising and leading audits and ensuring correct training materials for employees as required.
2. Lead the site on environmental issues and support our carbon reduction ambitions.
3. Communicate effectively with external agency & customer contacts and internal customer-facing colleagues to establish requirements to ensure compliance.
4. Advise on suitable annual KPI selection and metric reporting for environment in conjunction with management and appropriate internal/external bodies.
5. Determine organisational needs to achieve specific customers' requirements in a timely, efficient and effective manner.
6. Monitor developments in the field of environmental compliance to advise on best practice.
Our ideal candidate will:
1. Have experience in a similar role.
2. Be passionate about driving improvements.
3. Have an understanding of maintaining and driving ISO14001 certifications.
4. Have experience developing and implementing carbon reduction projects.
5. Previous experience of liaising with government and private agencies (Waste/ Water/ Environment Agency).
6. Experience of working with Microsoft Office Suite.
7. Uphold the two Mizkan principles of offering customers only the finest quality products and continuously challenging the status quo.
Salary: From £47,000.00 per annum (DOE) + 10% performance related bonus
