INTERNAL ONLY Group Worker Salary: £23,500 rising to £24,000 pro rated (subject to a 6 month probationary period) Location: Torfaen – based in our Pontypool office Contract: Permanent (subject to ongoing funding) Hours & Working patterns: 7 hours a week (part time) Flexibility on day of work and start and finish times to support a work-life balance Compulsory participation 2nd tier on-call rota (paid) Flexibility to meet the needs of the charity and the people we support Purpose of the post: You will deliver specialist support services to women experiencing any form of Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and/or Sexual Violence (VAWDASV). Based in our Hwb’s you will facilitate a range of group-work programmes for women affected by VAWDASV that aim to: create an understanding of abuse, an understanding of healthy relationships, an understanding of the impact of trauma, empower, develop support networks and build positive futures free of abuse and violence. Specific Responsibilities: To build relationships based on trust and respect with women so that they feel safe and listened to, ensuring all work undertaken is women centred To run group sessions in a professional manner, where women are made to feel welcome and are able to express themselves in a psychologically safe, non-judgemental environment Offer this service in ways that suit women such as at different times, days, in a physical group setting or virtually To complete detailed assessments focusing on the needs of those accessing programmes to ensure that we are fully meeting the needs required To manage the waiting list of the service To explore ways of ensuring that group attendance remains high and should this decrease develop an action plan to re-establish group attendance To complete regular reviews with those participating in groups to ensure that they are benefiting from the programme, including reviewing the progress made and completing pre and post programme questionnaires to evidence impact To involve women in the development and revision of the programmes Assist in promoting Cyfannol Women’s Aid group-work programmes in the local community and to key professionals within Torfaen Be aware of women’s wider needs, providing any urgent interventions and signposting when needed Ensure accurate and timely records are maintained in relation to all aspects of the service including inputting information into our Information Management System Assist in producing qualitative and quantitative data, including for example, the creation of case studies and reports for funders Be fully aware of the child and adult protection/procedures in Cyfannol Women’s Aid and report to line manager any concerns/issues in this area Support the Manager and the team in the general running of services when needed To undertake any training to be able to deliver agreed licensed programmes Work together with the other groups workers occasionally to co-facilitate or cover absence General Responsibilities: Contribute to the: Development and achievement of our Vision, Mission and Objectives Promotion of our values, culture and aspirations Creation of a safe, supportive, reflective and explorative working environment Promotion of Equality, Diversion and Inclusion Upholding of our Policies and Procedures It may be necessary, following consultation, to amend the job description in light of experience and changing circumstances Closing Date: 23rd October 2024 Cyfannol is an organisation with equality, diversity and inclusion at its heart.
