Your new role
As the Financial Controller for the UK business, you will report to the local country lead and have a dotted line to group finance in North America. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing financial reporting and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
2. Managing the audit process and liaising with external auditors.
3. Handling UK VAT and corporation tax matters.
4. Preparing and reviewing financial statements and accounts.
5. Utilising the North American shared service centre for operational finance tasks.
6. Leading FP&A activities to support strategic decision-making.
7. Partnering with business units to drive financial efficiencies and cost management.
8. Supporting the expansion of the UK business through detailed financial analysis and strategic insights.
This role is partially focused on technical finance, but also requires strong skills in FP&A, business partnering, and communication to help drive financial efficiencies in the UK business, including expansion and cost management. You will have the opportunity to get involved in various projects within the complex business environment, ensuring continuous professional growth and development.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you will ideally come from a practice, or highly technical background and be ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified. You will have experience in a partner or controller role. Key attributes include strong communication skills, commercial strategic thinking, and the ability to build relationships. A passion for detailed financial analysis and identifying opportunities within the business is essential.
