The role of a Band 6 Clinical Skills Facilitator is pivotal in supporting the Team's development and building a competent and confident workforce, who are experts in their specialty. Ward 1 is a busy Children's Cardiology Ward, caring for children and young people from 0-17 years. The Ward provides a range of care to patients and families across the East Midlands Congenital Cardiac Network within Leicester's Level 1 Pioneering East Midlands Cardiac Centre. Nursing care includes, pre and post-operative care, diagnostic investigations, level 1 and level 2 high dependency, post Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) care, working closely with Cardiac Paediatric Intensive Care, Children's Cardiac Outpatients Department and the Cardiac Specialist Nursing Team. This is a welcoming and passionate specialist team who pride themselves in offering high standards of care to our patients and families. You will be responsible for developing and delivering teaching packages, facilitating bedside teaching and clinical supervision. You will have a focus on supporting newly qualified nurses, whilst also developing experienced staff as they transition into new roles and are introduced to new clinical skills, strengthening our Level 2 care provision.
