PROMOTING INDEPENDENCE FOR 35 YEARS
The role of a Personal Care Assistant (PA) is varied and interesting, encompassing personal care (dressing, bathing, feeding, cooking, and cleaning) as well as providing support in social activities and workplaces. ILA also has vacancies supporting disabled people in their workplaces with tasks such as filing, scanning documents, and taking notes.
Do you want to work in an environment where every day you empower a disabled person to achieve their goals?
We believe that everyone should control when they get up and go to bed, what they eat, and when they go out. Needing assistance does not mean losing control and independence.
If you share this belief, consider working as a Personal Assistant with Independent Living Alternatives:
* Independent Living Alternatives is a user-controlled organization - the people who use the service control it.
* We have full-time and part-time work across London with physically disabled people living independently in their homes.
* Salaries start from £13.15 per hour plus holiday and pension.
* You choose when you work and whether you want a flexible or fixed contract of employment.
* We offer free online training for The Care Certificate, First Aid, Health and Safety, and Being a Personal Assistant, and you don't pay for your DBS.
* You will receive full training to work with each person you assist.
* No experience is required; just an open mind and a willingness to learn.
* PAs are great communicators, patient, excellent listeners, and able to follow instructions.
* PAs enjoy building great working relationships with the disabled individuals at ILA.
* Over 75% of ILA PAs stay for more than a year in their placements.
