Role Overview:
Could you engage with young people in Enfield to support and inform them in relation to alcohol and drugs?
Insight Sort-It Enfield provides information, advice, and help for young people who are impacted by or living with drug and alcohol issues, as well as guidance and support with sexual health and relationships. Our service is open to young people living in the London borough of Enfield, as well as family, friends, and carers of those affected by someone’s drug or alcohol use.
The aim of this role is to support the team in building relationships with schools and youth centres in the borough and to deliver assemblies and workshops alongside a staff member or volunteer. We're especially keen to hear from young adults who have been affected by substance use and/or other issues that face young people today, who have taken positive steps they can share.
Activities may include:
* Contributing to the planning of assembly/workshop content
* Researching and contacting schools and youth centres
* Delivering assemblies and/or workshops alongside a staff member or volunteer
* Helping with communication and planning with schools
* Evaluating the success of sessions delivered
* Contributing to marketing and communications about the service
Location: Insight Enfield Sort-It is based on Folkestone Road in Enfield, N18 2ER. There will also be travel within the borough, which the service will cover the cost of (along with any travel to and from the office). Volunteers can travel alongside staff to schools or independently.
Timings: We are hoping a volunteer could commit one or two days per week, between Wednesday and Friday.
Training: Volunteers have access to Waythrough’s training platform Learningkind. There is a certain amount of training you will be asked to complete, most of this is e-learning videos which can be completed on-site or at home.

* Clear verbal/written communication skills
* A confident and friendly approach
* An interest in the field of substance use and the impact of drugs and alcohol
* An understanding of the importance of guidelines and procedures relating to key areas such as safeguarding and information governance
* Basic IT skills – we can help you build on these
* Be respectful and non-judgemental
* Willing to attend and complete relevant training
* To participate in regular supervision sessions with your supervisor
