First Task Professional are currently partnering with a highly reputable civil engineering business based in Scotland to help them find a skilled Site Engineer to join their growing team.
Our client is a well-established civil engineering company known for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across the Central Belt of Scotland. They specialize in a range of services including roads and infrastructure, earthworks, drainage, landscape, and environmental works. With a strong reputation in the industry, they focus on sustainable, efficient, and innovative solutions that meet the needs of their clients.
As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient execution of civil engineering projects on-site. You will manage daily operations, oversee construction activities, and ensure that all works are completed to the highest standards while adhering to safety regulations, project specifications, and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and supervise on-site civil engineering activities, including setting out, groundworks, heavy civils, and other core engineering tasks.
* Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards.
* Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure smooth operations.
* Review engineering designs and technical drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Monitor and report on site progress, highlighting any issues or delays and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
* Ensure all works comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Provide technical guidance and support to site staff and other engineers.
* Assist with the preparation of site reports, progress updates, and other project documentation.
Skills & Qualifications:
* A degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent).
* Proven experience in setting out, groundworks, heavy civils, and other core civil engineering duties.
* Strong understanding of civil engineering construction processes, particularly in roads, earthworks, drainage, and environmental works.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and industry standards.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
* Proficiency with industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Office).
* Full UK driving license (as travel to various sites in the Central Belt of Scotland will be required).
