Position Title: Senior Project Manager
Reports to: Head of Enterprise Programme Delivery
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Role Overview:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of specific projects within the transformation and enterprise-wide programmes. This role is essential for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, while meeting the strategic objectives of the broader transformation agenda.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to manage project timelines, risks, and resources. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and coordination skills are essential to ensure seamless delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:
1. Developing and managing multiple project plans, ensuring clarity around timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation.
2. Monitoring project activities to ensure progress is on track and adjusting plans accordingly to mitigate risks and ensure delivery is on time.
3. Ensuring all project workstreams are delivered within budget and meet quality standards using agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
1. Engaging regularly with key stakeholders, including the Head of Enterprise Programme Delivery and external partners, providing timely updates on project progress, risks, and key milestones.
2. Ensuring clear and effective communication with project teams, fostering collaboration and alignment across all workstreams.
3. Presenting regular reports and updates to senior leadership.
Risk and Issue Management:
1. Working with teams to analyze risks/issues and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
2. Escalating critical risks to the Head of Enterprise Programme Delivery or senior leadership as required, ensuring timely resolution to keep the project on track.
3. Maintaining a risk register and ensuring regular updates are provided.
Resource and Budget Management:
1. Working closely with the Finance Lead to manage project budgets, track expenditures, and report to ensure that the project remains within financial constraints.
2. Providing forecasts for project resources and budget requirements to align with transformational objectives.
3. Implementing quality control processes and performing regular reviews to ensure project outputs are fit for purpose and meet business needs.
4. Facilitating effective collaboration between project teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive project delivery.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience:
1. Proven experience managing large-scale projects and programmes in agile.
2. Demonstrable success in working with cross-functional teams across technical and business domains.
3. Experience building and maintaining roadmaps and sprint plans.
4. Hands-on experience with agile tools (Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps).
5. Experience implementing governance processes and managing project outcomes.
6. Relevant certifications such as Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Agilist, PMI-ACP, or similar.
Skills:
1. Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting/governance.
2. Effective coaching and mentoring abilities (will be working closely with a team of BAs).
3. Analytical and problem-solving mindset to resolve blockers.
4. Resilient and able to work under pressure, maintaining control and focus in a fast-paced environment.
5. Detail-oriented and proactive.
