The post holder will be an integral part of the South West Provider Collaborative commissioning function providing operational and quality oversight in conjunction with the Head of Service. The post holder will work with the Senior Case Managers to ensure safe and effective care pathways are in place for all service users in specialised mental health, learning disability and autism care settings, within NHS and independent sectors for the regions population.
Main duties of the job
1. Deputise for the Head of Service.
2. Work with the senior case managers to provide leadership and senior pathway advice to support the quality of care and experience for service users in specialised services, including holding a small defined caseload.
3. Manage a group of case managers within SWPC and any other staff deemed appropriate.
4. Work closely with other wider mental health (NHS & Local Authorities) and statutory bodies across the region in terms of pathway management and interfaces as well as supporting service developments and improvements.
5. Maintain a strong quality & safety monitoring and oversight function for all of the specialised services within SWPC.
6. Support the business in driving transformation as well as value for money in planning, commissioning and service delivery.
7. Define current processes, facilitate discussions, and advise colleagues on how best practices might be adopted in the definition of future processes, document those processes as they are agreed and oversee their delivery.

* Holds degree qualification.

* Detailed knowledge of legal issues pertaining to specialist service, including MHA 1983, after care under supervision, sex offender legislation, probation orders and life licence, Ministry of Justice procedures and child protection legislation.
* Extensive knowledge of one or more specialist areas, acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training, plus further specialist knowledge or experience to masters level equivalent.
