Senior Director, Marketing - Lifestyle Brands

The Head of Marketing of LSB Europe (official job title: Sr Director Marketing Director) is a critical role within the LSB European Team. It reports directly and business-wise to the Executive Director and General Manager of LSB Europe, whilst functional and secondary reporting line to the global CMO of the business unit. It is based on our European home in Frimley UK, where we have both our regional team and our UK & Export team. This role is like being a CMO for Europe, with a large autonomy, managing a large team of marketers, having a seat at Leadership Table, with end-to-end responsibility of the Ecover brand (including equity, brand strategy, advertising and upstream product innovation), and regional ownership of the Method Brand. It is about doing best-in-class marketing that builds brand equity and deliver P&L results (delivering value share, net sales, gross margin, and profit $ KPIs is at the core of your remit). The role is both strategic and operational, and requires to be very ambidextrous. It is about driving our culture, stepping up capabilities, and developing the marketers. LSB Europe operated in 20+ countries (including export markets in Asia and Middle East), with the main markets being UK, Belgium, and Germany.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
* On Ecover, which is an EU led brand (with presence in 20+ markets), lead end-to-end: strategy, equity, advertising, product and commercial innovations (from vision to execution), portfolio, budget and media brand plans, digital, shopper and in-store, etc.
* On Method, which is a North American brand first, adapt the Global Brand strategy, equity, advertising and innovation to Europe & Middle East (focus UK), and lead the business and operational marketing of it. It consists also in leading from scratch some product innovations in the home cleaning business.
* Lead a team of 20 marketers/direct employees, plus manage a constellation of agencies and external partners (creative, media, insights, etc).
* Direct responsibility of a brand & media budget, with goal to optimize its ROI. Lead brand planning and omni, strategy to execution.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, R&D, supply chain, finance, sales, legal, etc to deliver innovation projects on time, on budget and on quality.
* Champion the European brand agenda within the European Leadership team and with the Global marketing team. Master influencing and networking of multiple stakeholders, also inclusive of Global HQ Team.
* Role model, coach, mentor and develop a high-performing team, based mostly in UK (but also in Belgium and Germany) fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, results and accountability.
* Establish and implement best practices, tools and methodologies for innovation/media/digital/advertising.
* Measure and evaluate the performance and impact of initiatives and provide regular business updates and recommendations to senior management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
* Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field, or its equivalent. Master's degree or MBA preferred.
* 15+ years of experience in leadership and operational marketing roles, with a proven track record of building brands and driving business growth. Must have experience in product innovation, and communication/advertising/equity, as well as in digital/media = looking for a rounded marketer profile who can do end-to-end.
* At least one proven experience in a big corporate environment.
* Affinity with Ecover and Method brands, and LSB/SCJ mission and values - including a genuine interest in sustainability and doing the right thing for the planet.
* Must have experienced beyond just the UK, must have demonstrated ability to understand different cultures.
* Highly decisive, fast paced, productive and effective ways of thinking and working.
* Very strong verbal & written command skills in English.
* Must declare to be mobile to the USA (assuming the right job and package) after this (estimated 3 years) assignment, to maximize chances and probability of a successful long- term career at SCJ, and to contribute to building SCJ talent bench.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Full-time position.
* Remote work is available once per week for eligible employees.
* This role is not eligible for Domestic or International relocation.
