Trusts and Foundations Manager (full or part time)
Merrifield Consultants are delighted to be partnering with HARP Southend in their search for an experienced and motivated Trusts and Foundations Manager. This role is a 12-month maternity cover contract, focused on securing funding from charitable Trusts, Foundations, and grant-making bodies to support HARP’s projects and services.
Position: Trusts and Foundations Manager – 1yr FTC (full or part-time hours considered)
Reporting to: Director of Fundraising and Communications
Location: Hybrid – 1 day a week in Southend

HARP (Homeless Action Resource Project) is Southend’s leading homeless charity, providing housing, advice, and life-changing support to over 1,000 people each year. HARP believes that everyone deserves a safe place to call home and the opportunity to rebuild their lives.
The Trusts and Foundations Manager will have an opportunity to fundraise for well-established projects and initiatives. You will also manage a healthy portfolio of existing donors while approaching new funders for support.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Research, identify, and apply to Trusts and Foundations to secure funding for HARP’s services and projects.
2. Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential funders, ensuring regular communication and engagement.
3. Prepare high-quality funding proposals and grant applications, ensuring alignment with funders’ priorities and meeting application deadlines.
4. Proactively identify new funding opportunities by researching potential trust and foundation donors that align with HARP’s mission and objectives.
5. Ensure funding agreements are met, including monitoring expenditure, project delivery, and compliance with grant conditions.
6. Develop and submit timely and compelling impact reports to funders, demonstrating how their support has made a difference.
This role can be considered on a full or part-time basis and will be hybrid, requiring staff to work one day a week at their offices in Southend.
