AWE is recruiting a Category Manager to get involved in indirect corporate procurement categories such as C&PS, Finance, HR, Legal, & Marketing etc.
Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.
Package: £46,000 to £65,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)

Let us introduce the role
As the Category Manager, you will be developing and implementing category strategy, supporting and executing strategic sourcing activities and supplier relationship management. You will monitor and drive supplier performance, assist with the development of supplier value including planning and preparation of external management review meetings, and drive operational efficiency in alignment with the Supply Chain Processes and Strategies.
Who are we looking for?
We are ideally looking for procurement specialists with strong stakeholder management skills. Previous public sector experience or worked in a highly regulated environment and understands the importance of governance is advantageous, but not essential.
Working at a similar level within a comparable organisation or industry, you will also:
1. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex contractual arrangements, framework agreements.
2. Strategic category management.
3. Managing multiple stakeholders and priorities.
4. Pricing arrangements e.g target cost incentive fee.
5. Intellectual Property Rights, Trade Controls and Earned Value Management.
6. Preparing tender packages, conducting tender conferences, developing evaluation criteria, analysing and evaluating proposals, negotiating subcontract provisions, subcontractor selection.
7. Working within a Procurement Function.
8. Delivering change programmes.
9. Working in cross-functional teams across multiple programmes.
10. CIPS training/qualifications or willing to go on the course.

Hybrid working is available for this role on an informal, non-contractual basis. Typically 2 days onsite per week.
