Key Responsibilities : Support students with severe learning difficulties, including those with autism and challenging behaviours, in a variety of learning activities. Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs. Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that encourages student engagement. Collaborate closely with teachers and other staff members to ensure each student receives the appropriate support. Encourage social interactions and promote the development of communication skills among students. Assist in managing classroom behaviour, promoting positive behaviour strategies. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge. Qualifications and Experience : Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with special educational needs, is preferred. A strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and a therapeutic approach to learning. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude toward supporting children’s development. A willingness to work with all ages across the school and adapt to the varied needs of students. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. An interest in pursuing further qualifications, such as teacher training, is advantageous.
