The technology function encompasses a mix of centrally managed applications and regional teams that provide hardware, infrastructure, and some localised application support. These teams span multiple time zones and employ varying processes, with centralised release management for enterprise systems.
To support the continued evolution of the business, we are seeking an Interim Senior Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer for a 12-month fixed term contract. You will lead development efforts, collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, and work closely with product owners and service delivery specialists to ensure the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform delivers on its current and future potential.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer, your primary responsibilities will include:
* Providing expert-level development support for Salesforce Marketing Cloud, ensuring the platform is stable, resilient, and scalable.
* Leading and mentoring development teams (in-house teams in the UK and Poland, with external partners in India and other locations) to deliver high-quality solutions.
* Acting as the primary technical contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication with Product Owners, Service Delivery Managers, and marketing teams.
* Driving continuous improvement by refining development processes and identifying opportunities to enhance system performance and user experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and implement advanced configurations and customisations to support marketing projects and campaigns.
* Provide technical expertise and guidance to marketing teams, ensuring best practices are followed and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
* Monitor platform health, scalability, and usage across multiple business units to ensure compliance with contractual limits and system performance expectations.
* Promote platform adoption by creating and delivering training sessions, sharing best practices, and offering tips for effective use.
* Evaluate new functionality as it is released and implement features to expand platform capabilities.
* Validate existing processes, challenge legacy practices, and identify opportunities for efficiency and optimisation.
* Ensure compliance with security standards and internal IT policies for development, testing, and deployment.

Essential Experience and Knowledge
* Multiple years of hands-on experience in IT development, with a focus on Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
* Advanced expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud modules: Email Studio, Mobile Studio, Advertising, Personalisation, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Content Builder, and Audience Builder. Salesforce Sales Cloud experience is advantageous.
* Experience working with enterprise accounts featuring multiple business units.
* Proficiency in AMPscript, HTML, and SQL.
* Proven track record in implementing and improving development processes at a regional or global level.
* Skilled in performance reporting for teams, processes, and platforms.
* Experience integrating custom applications, off-the-shelf software, and third-party APIs.
* Demonstrated ability to manage competing business priorities and vendor escalations.
* Strong understanding of IT service delivery, enterprise platforms, and systems change management.
