Our client is a leading manufacturer of specialistmachinery.
Due to ongoing growth, they arecurrently seeking an experienced Service Manager to be responsiblefor the development and growth of the customer service departmentand to be a key member of the senior Managementteam.
Responsibilities willinclude:
* Take ownership of theAftersales/Service department leading a team of Service Engineersand Spares Team members.
* Hold full profit and lossresponsibility for the Service department.
* Liaise withthe sales team on new orders/installations provide estimates onlogistics and allocate engineering resources.
* Visitcustomer sites occasionally.
* Regular service meetingswith the engineers to keep up with current service visitsor
breakdowns.
* Over-the-phone technicalsupport and log all service and breakdown requests receivedby
phone, email or WhatsApp messaging.
*Preparing and sending quotes for service calls where necessary.
* Programme the works for engineers, taking intoconsideration job urgency, location,
travel time andskills and parts needed.
* Contact engineers daily toascertain updates on the jobs given, any works outstanding statusand cleared jobs.
* Provide follow-up quotes for works ifrequired after the initial service visit.
* Processinvoices on completion of works.
* Ensure that allrecords are updated and accurate on the Database.
*Responsible for maintenance contract costings, ensure allmaintenance contracts are up to
date, send renewals whendue and invoicing once agreed.
The idealcandidate will be able to demonstrate:
*Manufacturing industry experience with a proven track record ofmanaging budgets across a
Service function.
*Mechanically biased Engineer with experience in managing,mentoring, supporting, and
leading a service andmaintenance team.
* Good understanding of industrialprocesses, manufacturing, and automated production
withinthe food industry.
* Passion for service and customercare.
* Proactive and able to resolve problems andchallenges as they occur.
* Strong people managementskills.
This is a fantastic role with agrowing business that can offer ongoing training and development.Hours for this role are Monday to Friday8am-5pm.
