We have an opportunity for a Clinical Chair t o join their team of staff in the Clinical Senior Management Team. This is a art time role for 4 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. Applicants should meet the following criteria: Consultant medical practitioner, with full GMC registration, a current licence to practice and on the specialist register. Highly developed leadership, influencing and negotiating skills with an ability to motivate and engage others Outstanding communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) A robust understanding of clinical governance and the healthcare regulatory system. Experience of providing strategic clinical leadership Experience of leading and developing clinical quality improvement initiatives Experience of assessing and managing medical performance Track record of delivery to agreed timeframes Duties of this role include: The Clinical Chair will provide clinical leadership leading a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement. She/he will ensure the development and operation of robust systems of clinical governance and oversee medical performance and the application of medical professional standards. The post holder will also support the development of medical training and research, be the line manager of employed consultants and oversee the management of Resident Medical Officers. Work with the Executive Director, Director of Clinical Services, MAC chair and MAC members to lead the development of a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement Ensure that the hospital strategic and operational priorities incorporate quality and safety Lead, support and engage the medical and clinical workforce.
