We're seeking a talented Program Manager to join JP Transportation, the core division driving Amazon Japan's transportation network.
In this strategic role, you will conduct iterative simulations in virtual environments using in-house systems to optimize transportation network performance, analyze and identify optimal solutions balancing three critical metrics: operational quality, cost efficiency, and delivery speed.

Key job responsibilities
1. Track and report on key metrics to ensure business health by analyzing the variance between forecasted and actual shipment volumes using our internal system including monitoring costs, load efficiency, and delivery speed, along with other essential performance indicators.
2. Identify opportunities for optimization and implement improvements to maintain operational excellence and sustainable business performance.
3. Coordinate with multiple stakeholders (internal departments and external partners) to ensure seamless project execution and continuous performance improvement.
Based on assignments
1. Lead Amazon’s transportation network construction and implementation projects for handling high-volume deliveries during sales and peak periods.
2. Design innovative transportation networks incorporating latest supply chain strategies (prioritizing customer experience, then cost optimization).
3. Design end-to-end transportation connections from shipping warehouses to delivery points during new facility establishment (including sort centers and delivery stations).
4. Develop and manage 3-year long-term plans for route planning operations, incorporating best practices from global Amazon operations.
5. Lead system implementation projects for route planning automation and process improvements.
6. Manage CO2 reduction initiatives in the transportation network, including implementation of sustainability measures and stakeholder alignment.
A day in the life
1. 9:00 - Review daily action plans and check emails/messages.
2. 10:00 - Review sessions with managers to strengthen planning initiatives.
3. 12:00 - Lunch break.
4. 13:00 - Conduct stakeholder meetings to enhance plan feasibility.
5. 15:00 - Monitor progress of implemented projects.
6. 16:00 – Dive deep data, run optimal tool to seek further business opportunities.
7. 17:00 – Check all daily activities and prepare for the next day.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
2. English: Intermediate (able to attend internal meetings, able to negotiate internally).
3. Minimum 2 years of project management experience.
4. Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot, SUMIF).
5. Analytical skills with ability to handle complex data sets and develop problem-solving hypotheses.
6. Project planning experience, including revenue/cost analysis and operational improvements.
7. Experience in process improvement projects.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Japanese: Intermediate (able to attend internal meetings, able to negotiate internally).
2. Experience in logistics, transportation, or warehouse operations, particularly in line-haul business.
3. Knowledge of management accounting and statistical analysis.
4. Positive attitude towards working in diverse teams and contributing to an inclusive culture.
5. Experience with SQL/Tableau.
