We have a fantastic opportunity for a passionate clinician to help to join our Falls team. The successful candidate will share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary Falls prevention services to our patients. We are looking for a person who has a passion for Falls prevention, who is a clinical Nurse or Allied Health Professional with relevant experience in frailty and working with patients aged over 65 in Falls. The post will coordinate the educational response for learning requirements and teaching in relation to Falls data and incidents. The post holder will coordinate the clinical data input the National Audit if Inpatient Falls.
The Falls Educator post is a new pilot role which will be vital and valued within the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring the delivery of safe, high quality, education to ensure compassionate patient care.

The post holder will support the Associate Director AHP, Falls Lead in the Trust Falls response. They will provide specialist Falls prevention education, with input into wards in the organisation, promoting best practice in the prevention of falls and the implementation of evidence-based interventions within a hospital setting. The post holder will support staff in the implementation of the falls risk assessment prevention tools, and the evidence-based falls bundles. They will be the nominated person for the National audit of Inpatient Falls and will collate and audit the data, analysing themes and learning requirements regarding Falls. This job description is an outline of the key tasks and responsibilities of the post, and the post holder may be required to undertake additional duties appropriate to the pay band.

* Provide expertise and advice pertaining to Falls best practice and education, to all levels of staff.
* To be able to effectively communicate with all levels of staff.
* To be able to teach all levels of levels.
* To be able to analyse themes and reasons for Falls and discuss with improvement strategies with clinical teams.
* To liaise with Ward Managers, Nursing staff, Allied Health Professionals, Support staff, Porters, Education and Practice Development Team, Clinical Matrons Service managers/Service Leads, Consultant body, Patient Safety Team.
* To be able to present learning from an In phase incident at Falls meetings.
* Be responsible for managing and prioritising own workload and maintaining accurate Falls training records.
* Ensure a supportive learning environment allowing staff to engage in Falls related training.
* Act on own initiative when dealing with enquiries and findings of themes of falls but recognise when support is required and escalate accordingly.
* To develop own learning and lead on learning of staff relating to Falls education.
* Demonstrate and practice clear and expert reflective practice.
