Senior Housing Officer
Salary: Up to £32,437 per annum (Grade 8) 37 hours per week
Are you an energetic and driven experienced Housing Officer looking to progress your housing career? If you feel that the time is right to make the move into management, you may be the right candidate for us.
We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Housing Officer. The successful candidate will work within the wider Housing Operations Team and will be responsible for supporting the team of Housing Officers. You will take the lead on ASB cases, liaising with legal services and partner agencies, preparing and gathering evidence, and attending court as appropriate. This will involve carrying out reactive visits to support Housing Officers or respond to urgent tenancy matters throughout the Borough. Access to your own transport is required, as these visits will be at short notice and of an urgent nature.
Day to day, you will oversee a team of 2 Tenancy Sustainment Officers and 2 Housing Assistants. You will work closely with the Tenancy Services Manager to develop and deliver high-quality housing services and improve our neighbourhoods.
You will ensure that the team achieves its performance targets in relation to tenancy management and anti-social behaviour.
We’re looking for an individual who has proven experience of:
* Working within a housing management setting
* Working with vulnerable people and providing high-quality customer service
* Good knowledge of the legislation pertaining to housing management including Anti-social Behaviour
* Experience of leading on antisocial behaviour cases
* Building effective partnerships and working closely with other teams
The ideal candidate will have:
* A great track record for providing excellent customer services
* The ability to lead and motivate a wider team
* Excellent communication skills and able to communicate well with a variety of different groups
* A strong performance management focus
* Someone who will represent our values and behaviours
* Access to own transport

What you need to know:
* This is a permanent role based at the Council Offices, Beeston, but office and remote working in the Borough is possible and encouraged within the role.
* Working hours are 37 hours per week, with business hours Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm.
* There will be a requirement to work outside of office hours on occasions, and you will need to visit properties and neighbourhoods within the Borough regularly and at short notice.
* Training to help you in the role is available.
* Travel across the Borough is essential, and mileage will be paid.
