Role Overview
A role for a Service Charge Accountant has become available in our service charge team based in our London office. The role is to work within the service charge accounts team, preparing and finalising the reconciliations of internally certified service charge accounts to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
1. Point of contact for Client queries, providing support and advice where necessary
2. Input service charge budgets onto accounting systems
3. Produce service charge income/expenditure reports ready for year-end audit
4. Liaise with external accountants to resolve queries
5. Take ownership for ensuring the service charge accounts are completed within the deadline
6. Assist Centre managers, surveyors and other teams to resolve queries
7. Complete journals, accruals & prepayments
8. Carry out mid-year reviews liaising with the site team, property managers etc
9. Monthly/Quarterly budget v actual reviews
10. Monitor cash balances and cashflow forecast
11. Complete tenant recharges and reconciling these
12. Reconcile balancing year end charges/credits due
13. Create statement of funds
14. Carry out Balance Sheet reviews and clearing these items
15. Reconcile VAT
16. Complete service charge handovers following sale and take on positions following purchase
Key Skills
1. Experience in Service charge Accounting
2. Experience in Property Management systems
3. Knowledge in NRLS/CIS & VAT
4. Full understanding of TB reporting/balance sheet reconciliation
5. Ensuring adhesion to RICS regulations
6. Focussed: commits to challenging goals and delivers consistently against these
