Role Purpose:
The Mini Bus Driver is responsible for operating the organization's mini bus to transport passengers safely and efficiently. This role plays a crucial role in providing reliable transportation services to staff, students, and other authorized individuals.
Role and Responsibilities:
1. Safely operate the mini bus, following all traffic regulations and maintaining a high level of passenger safety.
2. Transport passengers to designated locations, usually campuses, tube stations, off-site events, and occasionally other authorized destinations.
3. Adhere to predetermined routes and schedules, ensuring timely arrival and departure.
4. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the journey.
5. Conduct regular vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance or repair needs to Facilities Manager.
6. Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant data.
7. Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of the mini bus, both internally and externally.
8. Provide excellent customer service, addressing passenger inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
9. Comply with all organizational policies, procedures, and regulations related to transportation services.
10. Attend training sessions and workshops as required to enhance driving skills and knowledge.
Essential Skills and Experience:
1. Valid UK D1 license without “101” annotation in column 12 of the driving license, or the full D license
2. Valid Driver’s CPC card
3. Proven experience as a mini bus driver or similar role, preferably in a transportation or educational setting.
4. Excellent driving record with no major traffic violations, with no more than 6 penalty points.
5. Strong knowledge of local traffic regulations and routes.
6. Ability to communicate effectively and interact with passengers of diverse backgrounds.
7. Demonstrate customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
8. Physical fitness and ability to handle the physical demands of the job, such as assisting passengers with disabilities and handling luggage.
9. Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful or challenging situations.
10. Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
11. High level of responsibility and commitment to passenger safety.
12. Availability to work any shift within the campus operation times, Mon-Fri 7am-9:30pm; Mon-Fri, Sat-Sun 7am-7pm.
