Job Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lecturer/Lecturer (Research & Education) to join the School of Biological Sciences at Queen’s University Belfast, leading world-class research in Biochemistry.
The School of Biological Sciences and the Institute of Global Food Security (IGFS) offer a vibrant, integrated environment for research and enterprise, addressing global challenges through sustainable research. Recognized for excellence in the UK REF 2021 (UoA 6), they are committed to innovation and impact.
The successful candidate will expand the School’s research capabilities in Biochemistry, complement existing strengths, and have access to advanced infrastructure in molecular, genomic, proteomic, and metabolomic research tools.
Applicants should demonstrate the ability to establish and lead independent, funded research programs, contribute to teaching, and support high-quality student experiences using digital platforms.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:
* Honours degree in Biochemistry or related field
* PhD or equivalent
* PGCHET or HEA membership
* Research experience aligned with the School and IGFS priorities
* High-quality publications in recognized journals
* Experience in obtaining research funding as PI
* Development of research methodologies and techniques
Fixed-term contracts are initially offered but may be renewed or made permanent depending on funding.
