Are you a skilled mechanical engineer with a strong background in manufacturing, design, and power transmission systems? Ceto Talent is seeking two Fluidrive Engineers on behalf of a well-established company specialising in intelligent drive technology and systems across multiple industries, including rail, marine, power generation, and oil & gas.
The Role:
As a Fluidrive Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of mechanical designs and manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining technical product documentation, supporting workshop staff, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to drive engineering excellence. These are site-based roles in Croydon.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create new and revise existing manufacturing drawings.
* Ensure all drawings meet BS 8888 standards and are correctly uploaded into Team Centre.
* Maintain and manage CAD systems and technical product records.
* Liaise with workshop staff to address technical queries.
* Interpret and evaluate customer technical requests.
* Perform design changes and updates to align with current manufacturing processes.
* Support Sales Managers and administrative teams with technical input.
* Communicate with customers across the UK and overseas.
* Work closely with the parent company in Germany.
* Assist Field Service Engineers with products manufactured or overhauled in-house.
* Manage Fluidrive-related non-conformance reports (NCRs).
* Visit suppliers involved in machining, casting, and component manufacturing to provide technical support.
* Support purchasing and quality teams in assessing and approving new suppliers.
What We’re Looking For:
* experience in a manufacturing and design function.
* HND or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering.
* Proficiency in AUTO-CAD, Siemens NX, and Team Centre.
* Strong understanding of engineering change management and document control.
* Knowledge of BS 8888 technical product documentation and specification.
* Hands-on, flexible, and proactive approach to supporting junior engineers.
* Familiarity with non-ferrous metal casting processes.
* Experience in power transmission and rotating equipment.
* Commercial awareness and an understanding of the impact of engineering decisions.
* Strong grasp of manufacturing processes and ISO 9001:2015 quality systems.
* Ability to self-learn and work independently.
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills at a technical level.
* Genuine enthusiasm for mechanical engineering.
