Salary: UoG Grade 5, £26,038 - £30,505 per annum/ Grade 6, £33,232 - £ 36,924 per annum
This post is full time and Open ended with funding up to 31 December 2027.
The School of Cancer Sciences is looking for a Technician to provide in-depth and specialist technical support to Prof Ross Cagan and his group which is focussed on developing new therapeutics for cancer and rare genetic diseases. Ross Cagan’s group, based at the Wolfson Wohl Cancer Research Centre, is also part of the McNab Centre for Cancer Innovation.
The Cagan laboratory using Drosophila genetics, mammalian cell culture, and collaborations with chemists to explore the mechanisms by which drugs fail in clinical trials, using this information to develop new therapeutic leads. As part of this effort, we are working with the Cronin laboratory on an automated chemistry platform to speed drug development.
The primary aim of this role is to provide overall laboratory support and to work with the Drosophila and mammalian model teams both here and internationally. There will be extensive opportunity for personal development, and you will present your work at laboratory meetings and will be included on manuscripts as appropriate.
