If so, we’d love to hear from you Howden UK & Ireland is currently reviewing its communication and engagement platforms, as well as launching new commercial and operational systems, processes, policies and consistent ways of working. We are looking for an experienced Internal Communications Manager to join the team to work with the Head of Internal Communications & Engagement for the UK and Ireland to help us through this transition and embed the change before handing over to a BAU team. You will need to be a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual, with excellent organisational and communication skills and experience working on large-scale change projects, as you’ll be leading campaigns to agreed project timings. You’ll also need to have the ability to work quickly, efficiently and methodically within a fast-paced, changing, environment. The opportunity sits within Howden UK and Ireland, which has over seventy entities that have recently merged into one, and c.5000 colleagues in 200 locations. You will report into Project Champion II, which is the business integration, consistency and collaboration project team. The position is available for a 12-month fixed term contract and does not require office presence. However, occasional travel to our HQ in the City of London is desirable to cultivate positive relationships with collaborators and ensure we’re communicating via the right channels, to the right audience at the right time. Key Accountabilities Create and lead the delivery of employee communication for each of the Project Champion II projects. Work with the IC Channels Specialist to transition the business from the current communication platforms and channels to the proposed state, including merging and restructuring multiple existing intranets into one and launching a new social media platform. Support the Head of Communications & Engagement to embed newly launched channels, including virtual town hall events and leader road trips. Lead the production of a wide variety of content using different media, including news articles and formatted emails, SharePoint intranet pages, videos & ppt slide decks. Work with Group communication and engagement teams to support the communication of group-led initiatives, and embed a new, more co-ordinated way of working. Improve the audience segmentation to better target the right people more effectively and efficiently. Develop a comprehensive analytics dashboard that can be applied to all communication channels, enabling a better understanding of their efficiency and uncovering potential areas for improvement. Person Specification Highly organised with excellent project management skills and capable of running and prioritising multiple projects. Capable of thriving in a matrixed organisation, embracing ambiguity, and collaborating with various partners and team members. Demonstrated foresight in crafting narratives and effectively communicating messages through diverse mediums like video, presentations, and social media. Strong copywriting skills that will ensure you can convey information with energy, clarity, and in a succinct way to a busy audience who are experiencing high levels of ongoing change. Tried MS365 experience, including Teams events/town halls, intranet editing. Skilled in developing and delivering multi-channel internal communications campaigns and diligently measuring the effectiveness. Self-motivated with an enquiring mind – not afraid to ask questions. Diligent and focused on delivery – we love people who find or create solutions and can deliver what they promise, on time. Your experience Experience of working on transformation programmes or change campaigns in a change/comms role. Familiarity with a diverse organisation that operates on a 'matrix' structure or relies on 'comms partners' is preferred. Strong experience within internal communications, or a combination of internal communications and marketing campaigns. Experience restructuring, launching and embedding new communications channels. Prior experience in a communications role with businesses going through multiple M&A integrations. A Bachelor’s degree-level (or equivalent), with a Marketing or Communications major.
