Person Specification
* Fully registered medical practitioner with licence to practice on the GMC Specialist Register
* Fellowship or membership of the Royal College of Anaesthetists/Physicians/Emergency Medicine or equivalent.
* Fellowship of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine or Equivalent
Training
* Eligible to be included on the GMC Specialist Register with a CCT or equivalent Certificate of Eligibility for CESR in ICM or within 6 months
* MRCP/FRCEM/EDIC Extended complementary skills (e.g. Echo, USS accreditation)
Professional Interests and Experience
* Experience of general critical care casemix.
* Experience of tertiary management of complex critical care patients.
* Evidence of the use of audit in changing practice.
* Knowledge of up to date literature
Management and Administration
* Ability to manage & lead a team.
* Some experience of departmental management
* Evidence of postgraduate management training.
Teaching and Research
* Interest in undergraduate & postgraduate teaching.
* Experience in teaching postgraduates clinical & procedural skills.
* Postgraduate training in medical education
* Evidence of delivery of research.
* Able to travel to and from hospital site including out of hours
Personal Attributes
* Multidisciplinary team experience.
* Enquiring, critical approach to problems.
* Commitment to continuing medical education
* Good communication skills, ability to work well as part of a team
* Willingness to undertake additional responsibilities at local, regional levels

Salary: £105,504 to £139,882 per annum, pro rata
