The Role: Lead of Chemistry
As the Lead of Chemistry, you will play a pivotal role within the Science department, leading a team of passionate educators and reporting directly to the Head of Science. Your primary focus will be to ensure the delivery of an engaging and challenging Chemistry curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, aligning with the academy's high academic standards.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Curriculum Leadership: Designing, developing, and implementing a Chemistry curriculum that meets the needs of all students and inspires a love for the subject.
* National Developments: Keeping abreast of changes in national educational policy and subject-specific advancements to ensure Chemistry teaching remains cutting-edge.
* Resource Management: Selecting and sourcing innovative teaching materials and resources to enhance lesson delivery.
* Examinations Oversight: Coordinating examination entries with the school’s exam officer and performing detailed analysis of results to drive continuous improvement.
* Quality Assurance: Leading Quality Assurance (QA) processes within the Chemistry department to maintain high teaching and learning standards.
* Student Monitoring: Tracking and evaluating student progress, implementing tailored interventions to support those who are not meeting their target grades.
