Autism Support Worker Responsibilities Provide compassionate and individualized support to students with autism, fostering a safe and understanding atmosphere. Implement one-on-one and small group interventions tailored to meet each student’s unique needs. Assist in lesson planning and delivery to ensure the engagement of students with autism. Employ effective strategies to manage challenges and support emotional well-being. Track and document student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to personalized support plans. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about best practices for supporting students with autism. Essential Qualities Needed In An Autism Support Worker Experience working with individuals with autism; prior experience in an educational setting is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff. A high degree of empathy, patience, and understanding when supporting students with autism. To Work with GSL Education as an Autism Support Worker, You Need Have the right to work in the UK. An up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last 2 years. An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
