The Operational Support Manager has responsibility for the day-to-day operational role of the Medical Rostering Team for Unplanned Care and reports directly to the Operational Service Manager. They will lead the medical rostering team (consisting of ED Rota Coordinator and Junior Doctor Rota Coordinator.
The Operational Support Manager will drive the operational performance of the team through the use of key performance indicators and production of weekly and monthly dashboards, NHSI reports, validation and authorisation of invoices.

The Operational Support Manager will need to be up to date with developments in rostering and temporary staffing systems and the political landscape in relation to expectations regarding the use of systems and the deployment of Temporary Staff from NHS Employers and NHS Improvement i.e. Levels of Attainment.
The post holder will have a constant drive to ensure that systems are being fully utilised to provide safe and efficient staffing cover across the organisation. This will include providing feedback where system utilisation could be improved within the Trust.
