Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced Service Architect to lead the design and documentation of service architectures that support both new Microsoft 365 (M365) implementations and existing technology estates within a large public sector organisation.
This is a key role that sits at the intersection of strategic service design, technical delivery, and business alignment. Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain the ICT Service Strategy and detailed service model roadmaps.
* Design service architectures that optimise support efficiency and minimise operational costs.
* Ensure consistency across ICT programmes while meeting industry and national standards.
* Lead the design of end-to-end service models that incorporate cost, security, SLA, and support requirements.
* Facilitate the transition of M365 services into live environments, while ensuring continuity for legacy technologies.
* Collaborate with enterprise, technical, and solution architects to ensure cross-layer alignment.
* Define and document operational support models, acceptance criteria, and readiness plans.
* Support governance activities, risk identification, and service performance monitoring.
* Champion ITIL-aligned practices and frameworks across service design and transition activities.
Qualifications:

* ITIL Certification or extensive working knowledge of service management frameworks.
* Strong experience designing and delivering ICT service architectures in large, multi-faceted organisations.
* Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable service solutions.
* Sound knowledge of enterprise architecture principles and service delivery best practices.
* Comfortable leading on governance boards, workshops, and cross-functional engagements.
* Demonstrated ability in stakeholder management, including third-party suppliers.
* Skilled in problem-solving, strategic thinking, and operational planning.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
* Commercial awareness, particularly around third-party support negotiations.
* Must hold or have previously held National Security Vetting clearance.
