The Cardiothoracic Critical Care Unit consists of 31 purpose-built beds combining both level 3 and level 2 care for cardiothoracic patients. The Unit is the North West Centre for Cardiopulmonary Transplantation. This includes the development of a VAD programme, an established VV ECMO respiratory service and as part of our heart failure service we are also able to provide VA ECMO.

Main Duties of the Job
The Cardio-thoracic Critical Care unit is currently in a position to appoint to a substantive band 6 ECMO Co-Ordinator post. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated individual to support our large nursing team. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their ability to lead a team of nurses, support the management of the unit, support staff within the challenging critical care environment and have knowledge of the current multi-faceted NHS. The candidate must be an experienced ECMO specialist nurse. They must have experience within the cardio-thoracic critical care specialty, teaching qualification, education to diploma level, evidence of level 3 studies - including the Critical Care Course, and evidence of personnel development.
