Boden Fire and Security deliver services and project works to the Ministry of Defence and commercial clients at multiple sites in the South West and South East.
We are excited to launch a new opportunity for a Fire and Security Improver to join the team.
This is a trainee position, with the opportunity to develop into a fully-fledged Fire and Security Engineer. You will be offered both internal and external training.
The successful candidate will work with our skilled and experienced Fire and Security Engineers learning how to service and maintain various Fire and Security products, whilst delivering the exceptional customer service expected of the Boden team.

The role will suit a flexible individual who can travel throughout the South West. A van will be provided.
Main Duties:
1. Work with our Fire and Security Engineers to service and maintain Fire, Intruder, CCTV and Access Control systems.
2. Learn how to complete daily work sheets and test certificates.
3. Able to work unsupervised and perform effectively as part of a small team.
4. Keep clear and concise written records for use by others.
5. Consistently produce work to a high standard.
6. Complete work in a timely and efficient manner.
7. To ensure that all works are carried out in line with Boden and Client standards, policies and procedures and expectations.
8. Ensure Company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Essential:
1. Technically minded within the electrical sector.
2. Must be able to gain and retain MoD Security clearance.
3. Must have a 'can do' attitude and contribute to the team effort.
4. Focused, motivated and enthusiastic.
5. Capable of completing all own paperwork in a clear, accurate and concise manner.
6. Computer literate.
Desirable:
1. Knowledge of relevant standards such as BS 5839-1 and PD 6662 etc.
2. Experience of various intruder, CCTV and Access Control equipment.
3. Previous knowledge and experience of MOD contracts.
4. Experience of performing multi-skilled tasks.
Required Qualifications:
Essential:
1. Full valid UK Driving Licence.
Desirable:
1. Recognised experience within the Fire and Security sector.
2. Up to date knowledge of latest legislation.
3. FIA Training.
4. Electrical Qualifications (C&G/NVQ in an Electrical Discipline, 18th Edition etc).
5. IPAF.
6. PASMA.
