The Senior Community Officer (Student Engagement) will work with the Bank’s Community Lead to design, deliver and develop a new student engagement programme consisting of work experience, a mentoring programme and bursary.
The role will sit within the recently formed Climate, Sustainability and Community (CSC) Division – which straddles central services and policy Deputy Governor-ships. This new division is intended to draw together the Bank’s policy work on climate, operationally focused sustainability and decarbonisation activities, work in the wider community that create social impact, and the Bank’s Health and Safety team.
Specific responsibilities of the Senior Community Officer will include:
* Working with the Community Lead to plan and deliver workshops and presentations for young people aged 16-18 (online and in-person).
* Creating and collating educational content for use on the work experience and mentoring programme.
* Coordinating and managing all aspects of programme recruitment and shortlisting using a range of data and criteria.
* Managing event logistics e.g. room bookings, catering and security clearance.
* Develop and maintain connections with alumni from the Student Programme including overseeing the dispersal of the bursary of the Programme.
* Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Bank e.g. the Education team to promote awareness of and engagement with the programme.
* Creating and maintaining relevant webpages related to the programme.
* Managing programme-related enquiries from schools, teachers, young people and colleagues across the Bank.
* Contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of the programme in terms of recruitment, content, attendance and retention.
* Coordinating volunteers/mentors to support the programme including training and DBS checks.
Role Requirements
Minimum (Essential) Criteria
* Experience of working with children and young people in a university, college, charity or similar.
* Experience of managing projects, programmes and events.
* Experience of devising, delivering, and evaluating educational initiatives.
* Knowledge of the curriculum requirements for schools across the UK.
* Knowledge of GDPR legislation.
* Working knowledge of child safeguarding legislation.
* Experience of using analytical tools including MS Office and social media platforms.
* Strong communication skills and an ability to engage with people at all levels of seniority.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience of widening participation/outreach/recruitment work in an educational setting.

Salary and Benefits Information
This role offers a salary of circa:
London ranging from £28,320 - £31,860.
Leeds ranging from £25,520 - £28,710.

National Security Vetting Process
Employment in this role will be subject to the National Security Vetting clearance process (and typically can take between 6 to 12 weeks post offer) and the passing of additional Bank security checks in accordance with the Bank policy.
